Try This | Whiskey Six BBQ is pouring Sons of Vancouver’s new whisky
Whiskey Six is the only place to try Cigarettes on a Leather Jacket.
Looking for something new to do this weekend? Stop by Whiskey Six BBQ to try Sons of Vancouver’s new whisky dubbed ‘Cigarettes on a Leather Jacket.’
The Sons of Vancouver distillery is based out of North Vancouver and is best known for its Amaretto and Chili Vodka. However, the Sons are expanding into whisky, and they recently released a small batch of Cigarettes on a Leather Jacket.
At the moment, besides the distillery, Whiskey Six BBQ (826 Renfrew St.) is the only place to try this new whisky, so we stopped by for a dram and a pulled pork sandwich.
The Sons describe the whisky as having “strong rye notes of purple fruit and tobacco, warmness and a long finish of smoke, pine and oak.” The description is about right. However, we would add that it has the most delicious aroma of butterscotch. It’s remarkably smooth and easy to drink on its own. It also paired beautifully with the spicy flavours of Whisky Six’s pulled pork sandwich.
Cigarettes on a Leather Jacket has already garnered national attention and has already won gold at the 2021 Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition. They already have plans to expand but need a little help with capital, so they are currently running an Indiegogo campaign to raise $20,000 to grow by 20 more barrels before June 21, 2021.
